At school today, the students used a new website that our school has a one month long free trial for. On this site students can listen to and see cartoons of some of their favorite fiction and non-fiction story books. They really enjoyed listening to the stories today. Try it out at home! Also, check out the pictures of the students on the site using the school's new Mac laptop computers!

A Visit From The Grizz

Today in class, The Grizz from Oakland University came to read a story all about college to us. The students were so wonderful for our visitor and enjoyed the story!

Pancake Fun!

Wow! Tonight was a great event! So many of our friends and family came out to support UPA and eat all the pancakes they could! Check out the fun we had with flipping pancakes, Dora, Spiderman, the magician and all the people who were there.

Catching pancakes is hard work! But I did it!

Counting By 5's

Today we practiced counting by 5's. Many of the students are able to do this task independently! Check out the poster we made to help us count!

Chris Cakes

This Wednesday the 24th we are having a all-you-can-eat pancake dinner. The pancake flipping company, Chris Cakes, will be in our gym to make, flip, throw, and serve pancakes. Check out their website to see what they are all about. www.chriscakesofmi.com

Also, we will have a magician, giveaways, and some special character guests. The dinner will be from 5:30-7:00 pm. This will be a really great night to support our school and floor. Family and friends are all invited to attend.

Tickets are $6.00 each and include all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage and juice. You can buy them at the front office or with the 1st grade and kindergarten teachers. Let me know if you have any more questions about this event. See you Wednesday night for Chris Cakes!
