Temporary E-Mail

I just realized that one of the activity on the Holiday Break Homework involved sending me an e-mail. Since the school e-mail is currently not available to me, you can use my other address to reach me over break.

Message From Santa

Parents- Today I heard about a wonderful website where Santa gives a video recorded message to a child. You fill out all the information and upload a picture, and Santa talks to your child! It is really cool and I'm already sending it to some younger cousins.

Click on the part that says, "Prepare a New PNP Message" to create a message.

I also wanted to let everyone know the district IT department is working on our e-mail system so I have not been able to send or receive e-mails so far over break. Sorry for the confusion this might have caused.

I truly hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and is able to enjoy time with their loved ones!
Merry Christmas! Love, Mrs. Woolsey

What a Fun Friday!

We had such a busy- but fun day yesterday! In the morning during centers we were visited by Ms. Ritter and Mr. Curran's 4th grade class. They came by to sing carols and share a candy cane treat with us!

Later in the morning Mr. Peri and Mrs. Astle's 2nd and 3rd graders came to our room. We made holiday cards for people who will be in the hospital on Christmas day.

In the afternoon we had our party. First we decorated tree cookies with frosting and sprinkles. After we enjoyed all the delicious treats our parents donated. We ended the day watching the movie, "Miracle on 34th Street."

A giant thank you goes out to all the parents who donated treats! Thank you also to Jude's Grandpa and Joseph's Dad for helping out during the party! We had a wonderful day!

Our Snowman

Each class in the school is decorating a snowman provided by our art teacher, Ms. Seikaly. We took some time to decide what our snowman needed and how we would make each part. Then the kids all took part in putting him together. Here he is...

Phonics and Music

Lately whenever we learn a new concept in phonics- I look for a song that will help the students remember the lesson. The kids LOVE the music and often sing the songs through out the day. Here are links to some of our new favorite songs. Watch them at home with your student. I'm sure they'll love to see it with you!

Winter Concert

Wow! Last night the students gave an amazing show! I was so proud of each student who sang on stage. Ms. Ritter, our music teacher, was very happy with the first graders too. Check out pictures from the concert.

Domino Top-It

Domino Top-It is a new game we learned in math that the kids LOVE! They practice their addition and comparing skills when they play this game. It can be played with a group or partner. Top-It is a very popular game you will see these students playing all the way through 5th grade.

Donors Choose

We are very excited today because a project I posted on www.donorschoose.com was fully funded.

At this site teachers post up materials and supplies they need for their classroom. People who want to donate money to schools are able to look through posted projects and give money to teachers they choose.

Soon we will be receiving a pocket chart, ABC stamps, and 2 more books on tape! Now the students need to write thank you's to the people who donated.

Here is the link to our posted project.

More Exhibitions and a Birthday!

We had a very busy end of the week! On Thursday the students watched 6 exhibitions and were very respectful! Families should feel very proud of their students!

On Thursday we celebrated Jordan's birthday with a cupcake treat! Thanks Jordan!

Thanksgiving Feast

We had an amazing feast at school on Monday. The students ate turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, greens, macaroni and cheese, vegetables, juice and pie! The students really enjoyed all the food. Thank you SO much to all the parents who came to help out or donated a dish! It was a huge job to serve all the students in our village!

Waiting for our food....

Time to eat!!! Yum yum!

So many different kinds of pie for dessert!

Even my mom came to help out!

We sang Thanksgiving songs with Ms. Ritter after we finished our food.

We finished the lunch with a walk with Coach Marbury!
