Thanksgiving Parade Studio

After a week of amazing exhibitions, we went to the Thanksgiving Day Parade Studio. There we saw all the floats that will be in the parade on Woodward this Thanksgiving. We learned so much about what goes on behind the scenes of a parade. Check out all the cool floats we saw up close!

The Mackinac Bridge Float!

Wizard of Oz & If You Give A Pig A Pancake!

Mrs. Woolsey & Ms. Ellington's Class with our great tour guide!

Kindergartners with the 3 Little Pigs!

We saw many of the paper-mache heads volunteers wear in the parade.

This sun will be in one of the newest floats.

Exhibition Reminders

Tonight, a note is coming home with a reminder of your student's exhibition time, date and topic. Here are a few more things to keep in mind...

Please have your student do the work on the project. Of course you can help them, but have your student do the writing, coloring, cutting and glueing on their visual aids.

Please be present and on time for your student's presentation. Following the exhibition, we will pick a date and time to hold a learning team meeting.

I'm so excited to see all the great projects that the kids have been working on!

Exhibitions

Parents,
Exhibitions are around the corner! Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 10th there is a meeting after school from 5-5:30 to help give you a better understanding of what to expect and what an exhibition looks like in kindergarten. Here you can ask questions and get any help you and your student may need.

Body Band Field Trip

On Friday, we took a bus to Ann Arbor to see the Body Band. This group consisted of people singing, dancing, clapping, and stomping to make music. The students had a great time clapping along. A HUGE thank you goes to Mr. Miller for joining us on our trip!

Harvest Party

On Friday, we had a harvest party with Ms. Ellington's First graders. Thank you SO much for all the donations from families to make our party successful. We enjoyed pizza, donuts, apples, cider, chips and candy. We made a pumpkin picture frame and had a donut race game. Also, thank you to Mrs. Mixon, Mrs. Evans, and Mrs. Miller for helping out that day!

Tricky Teens

In Math we are learning about the tricky teen numbers. Practice writing and counting them at home. In class we put the tricky teens in order.

Reminder: There is no school tomorrow November 3, 09.

Field Trip Updates

On Thursday, October 15th we are going to the Cider Mill! The kids are very excited. Students do not need to be in uniform, but they need to be dressed for the weather. Please send your student with a bag lunch. Everything, including the bag, needs to be disposable because we will not be brining them back with us. On the trip, students will pick apples and a pie pumpkin, eat donuts and cider and go for a hay ride. The trip is $8.00 for students and chaperones.

Friday, October 16th there is no school for professional development.

The following week, October 19-23, I will be out of school for my honeymoon. Mrs. Jones will be subbing in our class. She is a wonderful sub who will keep the kids on track. She met our class earlier in the year and stops by to say, "Hi!" whenever she is in the building. Mrs. Jones and I have kept in contact as I prepare lessons for her. We are counting down to the day till she comes to stay with us.

Look for photos from our firehouse visit to come soon!
