My Kindergarten Teacher

Sadly, the elementary school I went to is closing after this school year. Friday, the school had a celebration for all the former and current teachers, staff, and students. I was chosen to be the former student to give a speech about my time at the school during the ceremony. It was so nice to see all my old teachers and tell them all about the class I am teaching now. I though you might enjoy this picture. Here I am with my own kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Habbic!

More Outstanding Exhibitions

I really want to congratulate all the students for their wonderful exhibitions! I was so impressed at what they learned about their animal and how they met their learning goals! I also want to thank the parents and families who helped at home and were present to support the students. Great job everyone!

The 5th annual UPA Carnival was Friday. Many students in our class came with their families for games, food, prizes, and lots of fun! Ms. Sangeorzan, my husband, and I ran the fish toss game. Check out all the good times!

Butterfly

In science we are learning about living things. The past few weeks the students have watched caterpillars make a chrysalis and now turn into a butterfly. Yesterday, we let our butterfly go.

Michelle Obama at Wayne State

One of our students was able to see and listen to Michelle Obama's speech yesterday at Wayne State. After she told us about it, we watched parts of it as a class. The students were really interested in her message about staying in school, doing your best, and being a role model to others. We had such a great conversation about it, and later in the day I even overheard students saying, "Obama wants us to be good in school." It made me smile!

Please take a few minutes to watch the video at home with your student. It is a great conversation starter and very moving!
