Green Eggs and Ham
Here it is! Green Eggs and Ham is our 3rd podcast! The students recorded the words and then took pictures showing if they like the green eggs and ham or not. We hope you enjoy it!
Half
In math today the students were introduced to the term half. We talked about making 2 equal groups. We also discussed what equal means. Here are some pictures of the students showing blocks split into half.
Also, in art the students made masks. They were so proud of their work, some of the kids wore them at dismissal!

Paper
Unfortunately, the copy paper supply at UPA is running very low. Although we are trying to cut back and use less, our supply is still dwindling. The students need paper for homework and daily activities. We are asking families to donate any white copy paper they can to our classrooms. We appreciate anything you can give. Let me know if you have any questions!

Money
The past few days in school the students have learned a bit about money. So far we introduced the penny and the nickel. Talk to your student at home about money. Give them some pennies and nickels and count change with them. We know that a penny is 1 cent and nickels are 5 cents, we talked about what they look like and what presidents are on the coins. After learning about the coins, we did coin rubbings on paper to have an image to keep. Check out our pictures!

Our New Listening Center
Over break our class received a listening center from DonorsChoose.org. It came with 6 headphones, a CD/tape player, and a headphone hook up. We are so excited to use this because now with our new headphones, students can listen to a story quietly during centers with out hearing the rest of the class.
Donors Choose is a great website for teachers. I post up items our classroom needs and write a little about our classroom and school. Anyone who wishes to, can donate any amount of money to our posted projects.
Check the pictures of some of the students listening to stories in our new listening center!
